Are Your Vices Killing Your Sex?

Did you realize that a number of things that we are doing in our lives may affect more than just our general health?  A good example of this is whenever a man is experiencing erectile dysfunction that is not a result of a major health issue.  At times, impotency may be something that is only experienced on a temporary basis but there may be other times whenever it continues to occur.  In order for you to overcome the problem, you need to remove whatever is causing the problem in the first place.  Here are several things that you might be doing which can cause erectile dysfunction.

One of the first things that you should look at is whether you are smoking or not.  If you smoke cigarettes on a regular basis, you are putting yourself at risk of sexual health problems and your odds of dealing with them are much greater than somebody who does not smoke.  One of the reasons why smoking causes erectile dysfunction is because it constricts the blood vessels all throughout the body.  If blood is not able to flow freely into the penis, an erection will not occur.  It also reduces your circulatory system so your body is not able to get oxygen to your extremities as easily.  Quit smoking, it will not only help your general health and will help your sexual health as well.

Another problem that may be causing erectile dysfunction is overconsumption of alcohol.  There certainly is nothing wrong with having an occasional drink and it can even enhance your sexual health in many ways.  If you go over that fine line, however, and end up drinking too much you can put yourself out of the game altogether.  Make sure that you keep a balance in your life as far as the amount alcohol that you drink and you may be able to avoid any embarrassing situations in the future.

One final thing that you may want to consider is how good your general health is.  If you have allowed your health to go downhill as a result of not exercising and eating the wrong foods, this can also cause erectile dysfunction as well.  By eating properly and exercising regularly, you are giving yourself a much better opportunity to be able to perform at optimum levels whenever you are in your bedroom.
